In
November 2001 another dimension was laid on Happiness
as an Art-project, when I was taught on dr
Kataria's School of Laughter Yoga,
in Mumbai, India and
learned its methods and philosophy. In India I also
took every opportunity to interview and learn from the people I
met, from all parts of the society. Happiness as
the underpriveliged find it was examined during my stay
at the ashram of Kasturbha Savodaya Mandal in Madhan, the
province of Maharashtra. There I also celebrated Diwali,
the festival of lights, which is to honour Lakshmi, the goddess
of happiness.
People look on happiness both in similar and opposite ways, compared
to in the western world. This was obvious thru' discussions with
wealthy, as well as people so poor they hardly owned the clothes
that they were wearing.
